Difference Between Dry Mix and Wet Mix Concrete

Dry mix concrete and wet mix concrete are two common construction material processed by different concrete mixing methods. Both dry mix concrete plant and wet mix concrete plant are welcomed on the market, different concrete mixing method will result in different features of dry mix concrete and wet mix concrete. Today, HAOMEI MACHINERY will introduce the differences between dry mix concrete and wet mix concrete.

1.Difference in cement mixing method:
Dry mix concrete is to mix cement, aggregate, fly ash and other raw materials dry and then add water to mix into concrete in a transit mixer; while wet mix concrete is to mix cement, aggregate, fly ash and other raw materials in the concrete mixer with water to form a slurry, and then add aggregate for mixing.

2.Difference in mixing method:
The mixing process of dry mix concrete takes a long time, the mixer power is larger, and the mixing effect is better; the mixing process of wet mix concrete is relatively fast, and the concrete mixer power is relatively small.

3.Difference in concrete quality:
As cement and aggregate are more easily mixed during the mixing process of wet mixed concrete, the quality of wet mixed concrete is usually more stable, and the strength is easier to control; while dry mixed concrete may have uneven mixing of cement and aggregate during the mixing process, and the quality is a little unstable.

4.Difference in construction environment requirements:
Wet mix concrete produces a large amount of cement slurry in the mixing process, which requires a larger concrete mixer and cement mixing pool, and the construction site needs to have enough water supply; while dry mix concrete does not require a large amount of water in the mixing process, which is suitable for the situation of tight water supply in the construction site.

To summarize, dry mix concrete and wet mix concrete are different in terms of concrete mixing method, mixing effect, quality stability and construction environment requirements. When choosing which concrete mixing method to use, it is necessary to consider according to the specific project requirements and construction site conditions.
